Boxed Brownies: A Cake Lover's Must-Have

Friday, 27 November 2015

We all know how much I love cake. If you don't then hello, you must be new here. My name is Laura and I bloody love cake.

You know what I love more than cake? Cake that gets delivered to me. You know what I love even more than that? Brownies that come straight through my letterbox meaning that I don't need to leave my warm house during these months in order to divulge in pure bliss alongside a cup of tea.

Guys.I have discovered a revelation in the form of Boxed Brownies.

You know how it is, you're scrolling through twitter, seeing the same old people nattering away, seeing the odd post that makes you chuckle out loud, replying to the odd tweet and then BAM! BOXED BROWNIES! Guys, I mean, seriously, if your feed lacks that then I feel sorry for you son, cos you've got 99 cakes but a boxed brownie ain't one.

...I'm really sorry I have absolutely no idea where that came from.

SO. Boxed Brownies started in July in the good old land of Sheffield, when a man name Clive received so many compliments on his signature bake (a classic gooey dark chocolate brownie - are you drooling yet? Oh, just me then *wipes mouth*) that himself and Hayley "the kitchen's dogbody" (that little quote made me giggle, so I had to pop that in) decided to set up their own little enterprise in the form of Boxed Brownies.

You know I mentioned the signature bake? Well, Clive only went and beat 7000 hopefuls and worked his way to the final 50 prospective contestants of the Great British Bake-Off! Yep, I even sensed your eyes widen then, you're definitely interested now, huh?

Made from fairtrade chocolate and organic free range eggs from their very own chickens; Tilly-the-Hen, Cabbage, Rocky Rhode and Jessica Hennis (oh yes, they went there), their brownies are one of a kind. And for you gluten-free kids out there - don't worry, you can join in on the fun too - they all come in gluten-free too!

I had the pleasure of trying the Christmas box, which contains flavours:
  • Salted Caramel and Cranberry
  • Stollen
  • Cardamom and Ginger
  • Amaretto and Rosemary
  • Bonfire Toffee and Marshmallow
  • Cranberry and Pistachio
I mean... come on.

My personal favourite is the Bonfire Toffee and Marshmallow, two of my favourite things in a big gooey chocolate cube, not much could go wrong.

I was so pleasantly surprised with the flavours! I wouldn't have personally have gone out of my way to buy these particular flavoured brownies if I saw them singularly on a stand, but now having tried them, I think I possibly would! Even the stollen, which isn't technically a brownie, tastes so Christmassy, how could I resist?! The cranberry and pistachio one was also one that I one I popped in my mouth went 'ooooh!'. Red berry yumminess mixed with a gooey silky brownie, mmmm.

So, all that's left to do is to satisfy those grumbly tummies! Head over to the Boxed Brownies website and  buy a box of brownies to support this independent business this Christmas! And who wouldn't want to support a man that gives Paul Hollywood a run for his money, hey?

And as a special treat (yes, even MORE than letting you all know about these AMAZING brownies) you can enjoy 20% OFF  a box of brownies with the code CHRISTMAS up until December 12th, both buy now and pre-order - So, don't hesitate to treat yourself or somebody else, you won't regret it, I promise. And they're even share-sizable. Even a cake lover like myself can't make her way through a whole cube at one time - so maybe treat yourself AND somebody else with just the one box.

Now, is it far too soon for me to order a second batch?

Disclaimer: Brownies were kindly gifted to me courtesy of  Boxed Brownies. All opinions, full tummies and hilarious jokes are my own.
