The Perfect Diary Partners

Wednesday, 27 January 2016

So, we all know that I have a slight (okay, huge) obsession with diaries and stickers. If you didn't then you must be new to my world. Hello!

Ten Instagram Commandments

Thursday, 21 January 2016

1. Thou shalt not upload a photo that one is not 100% content with.
2. Thou shalt not upload a bad quality image.
3. Thou shalt stick to what others name a 'theme' - not so one fits in, but to ensure that one's perfectionist streak doesn't have a meltdown and delete one's account.
4. Thou shalt not follow accounts because they have 1000s of followers and it seems compulsory to.
5. Thou shalt not compare one's profile to others. Especially to those of luxury lifestyles.
6. Thou shalt embrace the selfie without thriving to reach Kim Karshian's number of likes.
7. Thou shalt upload regularly
8. Thou shalt not cave in to flat lay pressure. One is pants at such images and knows it.
9. Thou shalt not be afraid to take photographs in public when one sees something pretty, even when alone.
10. Thou shalt not be disheartened nor discouraged by follower numbers.

Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Brushes Vol.2

It's not often I treat myself to expensive make-up. I'm quite stubborn when it comes to parting with money for something that I convince myself I can find identical to on the high street. That was until I had a bit of an epiphany.
Why on earth wasn't I spending a decent amount of money of things for my FACE that is the only thing that is CONSTANTLY on show?!
Yeah, fair enough, you can buy absolutely amazing drugstore products that I will still religiously use - but why shouldn't I part with that little bit extra in order to treat myself and my face to something a little more luxury?

Dear Alan Rickman

Thursday, 14 January 2016

You passed away today.

I was sat watching TV and filling in my diary when I found out. It was strange because I was away from Twitter for a bit which doesn't happen very often, and in that time it was released that you had left our world to become a shining star in the sky.
My best friend text me 'Did you hear about Alan Rickman?' I replied 'What no oh god what'. I tried to convince myself that you had just been in an accident of some sort, as after all it was clear something was wrong, and anything that could lead to a full road to recovery would have been better than seeing that you had died. But you had. I burst out crying.

Happiness Planner by Brandmentalist

Wednesday, 13 January 2016

When it was decided that myself and my favourite blogging girls would do a Secret Santa, I never imagined that I would receive a gift that would bring me to tears.

I have made it no secret that I am feeling extremely down as of late, but I don't tend to speak to others about it in fear of becoming a burden or putting them under any pressure to have to reassure me or to (potentially) pretend to care. But, every so often, I'll mention something that's going on in our little group conversation, and they begin to make everything feel better again.

Opening this present made my heart burst, my eyes fill up and feel overwhelmed with love.

New years are my favourite things.
They're a clean slate, a new number, a brand new calendar, a fresh diary and a chance to go 'right, this is a great chance to change this, this and this. They're brand new stationery, a chance to begin anew, a great excuse to start on the planners you've had stored away for a reasonable day to begin (oh, just me?), and a motivational beginning to whatever you have planned.
